Technical responsibilities:
- Interface with CSOs/HCP and their technical teams to understand current technical developments.
- Work with technical team members to understand scientific/medical potential for new innovations.
- Remain informed on timeline/milestone status of current preclinical and clinical trials.
- In collaboration with CSO/HCP team members, interface with KOLs and other key thought-leaders (e.g. regulators) that may provide inputs to outcomes-based market access opportunities.
- Drive interactions with commercially-oriented stakeholders, e.g., payers.
- Marshall the Development Strategy and POC milestones through governance.
Market responsibilities:
- Guide and deliver initial market segmentation and sizing efforts for new opportunities, leveraging BU knowledge/inputs where possible, to generate a market-based view of a target or technology`s` market potential.
BU interface:
- Be the primary interface with BU, seeking input and helping to provide data and perspective on key issues.
- Meet with key Commercial Development and MDG leadership in the BUs, collaborating to receive input on potential market size, etc. for emerging innovations as necessary.
- Provide updates on technical progress of clinical trials as it relates to potential launch readiness milestones.
Portfolio Prioritization and Analysis:
- Lead the creation of a market-based input (e.g., competitive intelligence) to the portfolio review process, identifying key technical/market based gaps.
- Oversee the preparation of the prioritization package for senior leadership, coordinating all efforts with all Strategy Team members.
Clinical Program Team Interface:
- Accountable for the crafting, review and approval of asset-specific development strategies.
This position will be Manhattan based and reporting to the Senior Vice President, Development & Strategic Operations (DSO), in Collegeville, PA.

- At least 2 years in a Senior Director level responsibility within Pfizer/Wyeth.
- Degree in life sciences required. An advanced degree and/or additional business training / education is preferred.
- Deep scientific experience coupled with in-depth knowledge of the R&D development process.
- Leadership role experience for products that have had successful registration outcomes, i.e., leading project teams and projects that went to filing and beyond.
- Deep experience in market sizing, financial analysis and strategic planning.
- Experience with the critical interfaces between the science and the business as listed in the Role Description, e.g., Commercial Business Units, Clinical Program Teams.
